I. On today’s show (Monday, May 29, 2023), WGNS host Scott Walker is joined by JC Bowman, the Executive Director of the Professional Educators of Tennessee. Bowman talks about changes in education of the past 5 to 10-years that have been tough on students, teachers, parents and more. He also talks about a few controversies and issues that have unfolded in Middle Tennessee in recent months, how schools will keep up with growth locally and more.
II. Later (Starts at 36 min and 30 sec), Rutherford County Commissioner Craig Harris chimes in during The Commissioner Corner. Harris voices concerns about political correctness and living in a world without respect. The commissioner talks about a gender-neutral world that lacks a backbone, but is somehow overridden with a rude undertone that refuses to hear each others views. Today’s (Monday) episode is one you won’t want to miss.
III. In the third segment (Starts at 41 min and 45 sec), WGNS’ Scott Walker talks to Lindsey Jennings and Candice Urias from the local Discovery Center in Murfreesboro. The guests highlight the upcoming Secret Garden Party and Secret Garden Tour. Learn more HERE.
IV. For the final portion of the show on Monday (Starts at 49 min and 29 sec), WGNS updates the audience on a new 1,111 home subdivision that is a purpose planned 55+ Community. The new neighborhood, which will sit on over 522 acres, includes an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, pickle ball courts, walking trails and more. However, it lacks one thing… children. Of course, there will be plenty of smiling grandkids visiting on a regular basis, but one of the requirements to actually live in the newly planned community is the requirement that at least one homeowner has to be 55 or older.
