RUTHERFORD COUNTY, TN - A Soldier's Child Foundation has announced a new Tennessee license plate. Organization founder Daryl J.W. Mackin stated…ASCPLA Funds raised from the new Tennessee license plate help the foundation that focuses on the children of military members who are no longer with us. From yearly birthday celebrations, summer camps, mentorship programs, and facilitating in secondary/college scholarships - - A Soldier’s Child helps in multiple capacities with a focus of standing beside the surviving children of troops who were killed while on active duty or whose death is tied to their service.

More on ASC - A Soldier’s Child (ASC) Foundation was founded by Daryl J.W. Mackin after his neighbors lost their son, Marine Staff Sergeant Marcus Golczynski in Iraq on March 27, 2007. Mackin says that many families of our fallen ask “did it matter and does anybody even care.” Staff Sergeant Golczynski wrote in a letter to his family and friends before he was killed on the battlefield; “Stand beside us, because we would do it for you.” The organization was started with Golczynski’s letter in mind and the burning question of how do we as a community stand beside our troops when they are gone? Part of the answer to that question is caring for their children that have been left behind.
Serving children of fallen servicemen and women from all U.S. military branches is the primary focus of A Soldier’s Child Foundation that acknowledges all deaths during active duty and any deaths post military service, due to service-related injuries or illnesses. This includes suicides from PTSD related deaths. ASC offers Love to the child left behind, Honor for the memory of the fallen and a Hope for the children to live a courageous life.
Again, Mackin thanked the Tennessee General Assembly, Governor Bill Lee, Wendy Lloyd and State Representative Mike Sparks of Smyrna. Hear the Thursday Podcast from WGNS that features guests from A Soldier's Child Foundation HERE. Find A Soldier's Child on Facebook HERE.
