(BELL BUCKLE, TN) On Saturday (6/17/2023) morning during the Moon Pie Festival in Bell Buckle, two motorcycles sped through a blocked off area. One of the motorcycles allegedly hit and severely injured one of the runners. The cyclists reportedly fled the scene.

As the awards were being handed-out, it was announced that the runner was improving and would make it!

An off-duty nurse is being called a hero by many. She reportedly was watching when the motorcycles roard through and hit a senior citizen runner participating in the 5K. She jumped into action and allegedly did trauma care on the seriously injured man until the ambulance arrived and stabalized him.

Again, officials have announced the runner is doing well. The Bedford County Sheriff’s Office has since said that the white male, seen in a tank top below, has been identified. The Sheriff’s Office still needs your help identifying the male subject in the shorts and black (or dark blue) and white jacket.

The Bedford County Sheriff’s Office reported, "It is believed that one of the motorcycles is black and the other one is white as shown in the pictures. The Sheriff’s Office is asking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects."

The Sheriff’s Office is asking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects. If anyone knows the identities of these suspects, please contact Det. Trey Green at the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office at 931-684-3232.
