(MURFREESBORO) The historic Murfreesboro square was packed with shoppers as Main Street's SATURDAY MARKET along with the new Oscar Mayer Frankmobile gave out free hotdogs and served as a photo op.

Over the years, the weekly event has grown into a major downtown attraction during the warm weather months. Fresh produce, baked goods, honey, artwork and more are offered by local vendors.

Main Street Murfreesboro, is a nonprofit 501c3 corporation, and has focused on the economic development, design, and promotions of the historic downtown business district for the past 38 years. The event is held around the Rutherford County historic courthouse, in which a tremendous local history museum is located. That too is open to the public and serves as a way for new residents and tourists to learn more about local history.

The Murfreesboro Saturday Market is open on the square from 8am to noon every Saturday, May through October, lining the streets with 68 vendors and a steady stream of customers. “The Saturday Market is a gathering place for our extended community and for showcasing our downtown,” said Sarah Callender, Executive Director for Main Street Murfreesboro.
