MURFREESBORO, TN – Imagine the surprise when the victim realized that someone had fraudulently spent $15,000 on their Lowe's business account. Now, Murfreesboro Detectives need help identifying a subject who was caught on camera during at least one of multiple occasions that the account was used.
On June 20, the rightful account holder found out that someone was using his account when he attempted to make a purchase at the Lowe's store in Lebanon. While at the store he was told that he had no remaining credit. While trying to get to the bottom of the mess, it was confirmed the thief made purchases at six different Lowe's in six different cities. At least four purchases were made at the Murfreesboro Lowe's.
Police were able to obtain video footage from a security camera in Murfreesboro that may have caught the suspect red handed. But, to determine if the person recorded on video is the actual suspect, detectives need to talk to him in person to verify if he used the account himself or if he was simply a third party picking up goods for someone else? Authorities say the subject left the store in a black SUV. The SUV appears to be a dark colored Kia Sportage, according to one auto enthusiast.
