During the first half of the program, we talked to representatives from Habitat for Humanity in Rutherford County. WGNS’ Scott Walker was joined by Melissa Cross, Dean Holland and Ken Shook. They trio talked about the upcoming Hammer Down for Habitat Poker Run and Marathon. Supporters of the Rutherford County Area Habitat for Humanity will take to the streets on September 16th for the 15th Annual Poker Run. At least 60 vehicles will participate in the poker run this year. A 26.2-mile Marathon Relay Run will also be a part of this year’s event. After the marathon and poker run, participants and supporters will gather at the Mayday Brewery in Murfreesboro for LIVE music, lots of food and fun. For tickets or to sign up to be in the Poker Run or Marathon, visit EventBrite.com and type in Habitat Poker Run.

On the Second Half of the Action Line, WGNS spoke to Brianna Hale, who told us about the upcoming 2nd Annual Peach Cobbler Festival. The event will be at the Lane Agri Park at 315 John R. Rice Blvd. in Murfreesboro. This Peach Cobbler Festival will be this Saturday (Aug. 12, 2023 between 9AM and 4PM). At the event, you can expect to taste some of the best peach cobbler available to mankind. You can also browse through the aisles of 100-vendors from throughout Middle Tennessee. Bring an appetite, because food trucks will also be on hand. Kids will enjoy the petting zoo, which will feature local animals and animals you seldom see, like real life Kangaroos! Children can also enjoy a ride on a pony. Click Here to learn more.
