WILSON COUNTY, TN - In nearby Lebanon, the driver of a 4-door Chrysler is thankful to have survived a collision with a train this past Friday, August 11, 2023. The mishap occurred on West Main Street between South Maple and Greenwood Street. Evidently, the crash occurred when the vehicle struck the side of the WeGo Star Train. There were no serious injuries reported in the collision on Friday.

The WeGo Star is the runs along the East Corridor and transports passengers to and from downtown Nashville.

Tennessee was ranked in the top percentile for train verses vehicle accidents in 2022. The state had the 14th highest number of rail-grade crossing collisions last year. There were 51-railroad collisions, 4-deaths and 22-injuries associated with train accidents. Texas had the highest number of collisions last year, while California had the highest number of deaths.
