(MURFREESBORO) A 1-year old infant stopped breathing, and his panic-filled parents grabbed the baby, jumped in the car and headed to the hospital.
While speeding for help, they called 9-1-1 while driving to get any instructions on what to do. This is the actual call . . .
While that was going on, the police telecommunicator had the parents pull-over to the side of the road and dispatched a nearby squad car to the parent's location.
Thanks to a body cam on Officer Robert Baer, you can hear everything that was happening. Here is the actual sound of 1-year old Zaire Brown being saved by the police officer . . .
Officer Baer was able to get the child breathing again and stabalized the infant until paramedics arrived. He saved the child.
A few days later, there was a tearful reunion between the parents, little Zaire and Murfreesboro Police Officer Baer.
Our community is fortunate to have caring emergency responders like Officer Robert Baer along with the team of communicators, fire department responders and paramedics with the Rutherford County Emergency Medical Service.
WGNS salutes these heroes for another job well done.
