(SMYRNA) The Annual Top Gun Night Run enjoyed another successful 6K event in Smyrna this past Friday night (9/15/2023).

The run began at the Smyrna Event Center, 100 Sam Ridley Parkway, and went through parts of the Smyrna Airport and Golf Course, ending at the Lee Victory Recreation Park beside the Memorial.  

The Memorial is dedicated to Blue Angel Marine Captain Jeff Kuss who lost his life in crash during a practice run before the Great Tennessee Air Show on June 2, 2016.

Proceeds from the annual Top Gun Night Run 6k are applied directly to ongoing maintenance and upkeep of the Captain Jeff Kuss USMC memorial.

First across the finish line was 39-year-old Brandon Peterson of Murfreesboro with a chip time of 22:14.9.
