(MURFREESBORO) UPDATED - Around 3:04AM Tuesday morning (9/26/2023), there was a serious one-vehicle crash in Murfreesboro. The wreck occurred at the 2700 address of South Church Street near Calumet Trace, which is the entrance to the Indian Hills Golf Course and subdivision. 

The preliminary report indicates an adult male driver traveling inbound lost control, veered into the southbound lane and hit a utility pole. Murfreesboro Police Public Information Officer Larry Flowers said that one patient had to be be taken by LifeFlight helicopter to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. Flowers stated, "The adult male driver is in critical condition at Vanderbilt Hospital." Around 3:30 on Tuesday, Flowers told us, "At last check, the driver was in critical condition and undergoing surgery."

After the crash was cleared, all lanes of traffic were reopened for motorists on S. Church Street. As of Tuesday afternoon, the investigation into the accident remains ongoing.
