SMYRNA, TENN - The Smyrna Police Department is seeking to identify multiple subjects who were captured on security cameras at several stores in the area.
According to Smyrna authorities, the men who were caught on camera are suspected of being involved in several theft cases. Police say that at least two of those thefts occurred at Target, which is near Sam Ridley Parkway and I-24.
One of the key items believed to have been shoplifted by the culprits were various sets of Lego's. Thieves targeting Lego sets coincides with the popularity of the small building blocks. During the first six months of 2023, consumer sales grew by 3% and revenue grew by 1%, resulting in $4-billion in sales for Lego. Of course, shoplifting Lego's doesn't help the bottom line for the company.
