RUTHERFORD COUNTY, TN – Kids will be Trick or Treating throughout Rutherford County neighborhoods on Tuesday evening. The excitement of being in their favorite costumes while seeking candy during their annual Halloween festivities is something that young parents will remember for years to come, while parents with older children will have the opportunity to reflect on years past.
Sgt. Austin Watson said the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office recommends drivers to slow down to 25 mph while traveling through neighborhoods Halloween night. Some may want to driver even slower, if the neighborhood they're in has more children than others.
“This Halloween, we want to keep our kids safe by driving through the neighborhoods slowly,” Watson said. “Children are hard to see at night. They might not be paying attention. As adult drivers, it is important to slow down and keep a constant watch for children.”
MURFREESBORO SQUARE - Remember, parents can also take their little ghost and goblins to the historic Rutherford County Square on Tuesday. Trick or Treating on the Murfreesboro square will be from 3 to 5PM
WATERTOWN SQUARE - There is also an event known as Halloween on the Square just outside of Rutherford County in Watertown, which is in Wilson County. The Spooktacular trick or treating starts at 6PM in Watertown. Their costume contest will get underway at 6:30.
