  • City has created a REAL-TIME CRIME CENTER to gather information and make it available to officers while incidents about crimes are still current. This includes witness calls as well as other data from outside sources. The first technology added to this new service are 40 license plate reader cameras. 
  • Discussion of the results of visibly being "armed" in Tennessee (carry permits no longer needed).
  • This calendar year (2023) there have been 116 shots fired reports received by MPD. As officers checked-out those calls, it has  been confirmed that 90 were actual gun shots.
