RUTHERFORD COUNTY, TN - A coat drive is now underway at Barnabas Vision in Murfreesboro. The local non-profit has spearheaded this drive since their inception and has always worked hard to ensure they have a large number of coats to meet the needs of all ages and sizes before the cold weather strikes. Anyone wanting to make a coat donation can drop off the cold weather coat at their offices on MTCS Drive.

Need a Coat? For those who NEED A FREE COAT, you can pick one up at their coat giveaways on Wednesday, November the 15th AND Tuesday, December 15th between 1:30 PM and 3 PM. Barnabas founder David Coggin told WGNS that those who can't make it to their giveaways, but need a coat can visit their office to pick-up a free coat anytime. The organization is near Reeves Sain Drug Store at 141 MTCS Road.

Sponsors are also needed to buy Christmas gifts for local children living in poverty...  That was Barnabas Visions' Julie Young. She said the not-for-profit began their Christmas program after seeing an increase in evictions during the months that followed the holiday season. Young told us that families will routinely use what little money they have in December to buy gifts for their children, which leaves their pockets empty when it comes time to pay bills.
