RUTHERFORD COUNTY, TN - Average gasoline prices in Tennessee have fallen 7.9 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $2.92/g today, according to GasBuddy's survey of 3,821 stations in Tennessee. Prices in Tennessee are 22.3 cents per gallon lower than a month ago and stand 35.0 cents per gallon lower than a year ago. The national average price of diesel has fallen 4.2 cents in the last week and stands at $4.34 per gallon.

RUTHERFORD COUNTY PRICES - Rutherford County is also seeing a decrease in prices. Currently, gas stations in the Murfreesboro, Smyrna and La Vergne areas are charging an average price of $2.85 per gallon, which happens to be on the low end of the spectrum when compared to other counties in the state, according to the AAA Auto Club. Eagleville is a bit higher, as are most rural areas in Middle Tennessee. South of the 'Boro, you'll find that Bedford County has an average price per gallon of $2.82 for regular unleaded. North of Rutherford County is Wilson County, where the average price of regular unleaded is $2.83 per gallon. To the east in Cannon County, the price is $2.92 per gallon.

HIGHEST PRICE - The highest priced gas in the state can be found in Williamson County, which has held the high price trophy for months on end. There, regular unleaded is averaging $3.46 per gallon. Prices in Music City are also high. Nashville's average price per gallon is $3.05 (regular unleaded).

DIESEL - The national average price of diesel has fallen 4.2 cents in the last week and stands at $4.34 per gallon. Specifically in Tennessee, Monday's average price of diesel is $4.06 per gallon. That's .4-cents cheaper when compared to last week. At this time last year, diesel was priced at $5.17 in Tennessee. Last year's price was $1.11 more than today's price.
