MURFREESBORO, TN - The annual Murfreesboro Christmas Parade is nearing and the time to register to be in the parade is now. Susan Hicks with the Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation Department told WGNS News... The Parks & Rec. Department is in charge of organizing the parade again this year.
According to Leeann Walker with WGNS who organized the parade for decades, her earliest memory of a Christmas parade in Murfreesboro took place in 1984, which means this year marks the 39th year for the annual parade. Next year in 2024 will be the 40th anniversary for the Murfreesboro Christmas.
The theme of this year's parade is Christmas Magic, as explained by Hicks... You can find registration form for the parade on the Murfreesboro Parks and Rec. website (Click Here). The parade itself is Sunday, December 10, 2023 at 2 PM and as in years past, the parade will start near the intersection of East Main Street and Middle Tennessee Blvd. The parade route will head down East Main Street to the historic Rutherford County Square and end at North Walnut Street.
