(URFREESBORO) The Rutherford County Sheriffs Office has hired a new deputy from Hungary, a post war satellite state of Russia.
The new deputy does have strong US references. K9 Hector obtained certification from Region 13 of the U.S. Police Canine Association after he and Sheriff’s Deputy Aaron Price trained with Metropolitan Nashville Police’s K9 Section.
Hector is a 2-year-old Malinois-German shepherd mix who was born in Hungary, Price said. Hector and Price underwent several weeks of training for drug detection before training weekly with Nashville Police’s K9 Section.
Deputy Price noted, “He is certified and assigned to me and the STOP (Strategies and Tactics for Opioid Prevention) Unit to assist with drug detection work."
