Mayor Shane McFarland interacts with the public about Murfreesboro issues: 

• Construction on West Park will begin soon. Since it is off the Veterans Parkway, it will be called Veterans Park.
• The Cherry Lane extension from the Soccer Fields to I-840 will have a route adjustment. The Corps of Engineers say that the wetlands on Cherry Lane must not be disturbed. 
• The Gateway Blvd. extension that connects with Robert Rose Drive is nearing completion and should be open in min January 2024. 
• Road improvements and widening of Memorial Boulevard between Thompson Lane to Jefferson Pike are being planned. 
• Crime near the university is a concern and Murfreesboro Police are setting-up a VIRTUAL POLICING CENTER.
