Shoplifting Incident in Murfreesboro Sparks Police Investigation: Detectives Seek Public Assistance

In a recent series of thefts at JCPenney in Murfreesboro, local police detectives are actively seeking to identify a person of interest linked to two separate shoplifting incidents. The unidentified woman, caught on surveillance video during both incidents, is wanted for questioning regarding the theft of merchandise totaling over $2,000. On these occasions, the suspect was observed filling bags and a purse with a variety of items, including men's clothing, jewelry, and hair products.

Detective Ed Gorham of the Murfreesboro Police Department is urging the community to come forward with any information that may aid in identifying the individual in question. One incident that was captured on camera, occurred just 2-days before Christmas on December 23, 2023. In that case, the unknown subject can be seen exiting the store with clothing in hand and tucked under her arm.

As the police work diligently to bring resolution to these incidents, they are relying on the support and vigilance of the public to help identify and locate the person of interest involved in these thefts.
