MPD Sgt. Drew Darnall Retires

(MURFREESBORO) As the old year departs, so does a City peacekeeper who has protected residents in the Heart of Tennessee for 27-years. Sgt. Drew Darnall was honored Friday (12/29/2023) in a private ceremony at the Murfreesboro Police Department. At that gathering, he was presented his badge, gun, and a retirement plaque.

Sgt. Darnall said, “It’s been a heck of a ride, and I will miss the people I worked with for the past 27 years. I will now be able to spend more time with my family and loved ones.”

Sgt. Darnall began his Murfreesboro Police career as an officer in October, 1996.  He became as a Field Training Officer (FTO) and spent 18 years on the Fatal Accident Crash Team (FACT), serving as the assistant commander for the last five.   He was promoted to Patrol Sergeant and most recently to Traffic Sergeant in the newly created Traffic Division.   

He is a graduate of Liberty University and earned a degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology.  He also attended Middle Tennessee State University.

Prior to his employment here, Darnall was a patrol officer with the Springfield Police Department.

The Good Neighbors wish Sgt. Drew Darnall well with his retirement and want him to know how much his service has helped this community.
