Today on the show with host J. Paul Newman, Rutherford County District Attorney Jennings Jones looks at the current criminal court cases within the local courts, and updates listeners on recently closed cases that ended with a criminal conviction. Also on the program, retired district attorney Bill Whitesell speaks to the surviving  family members of a man who was killed in cold blood. Whitesell examines what happened in the murder

A retired Nissan employee had just wrapped up a fishing trip he took with his daughter on the Stones River. When he walked back to his truck - in preparation of loading his boat at the Mona Boat Ramp, he was shot and killed. The murder occurred in October of 2015 and to date, authorities have not been able to arrest the subject(s) who took the life of  53-year old William Gregory Hawkins of Murfreesboro.

On this program, we talk to the widow of Greg Hawkins, along with his brother. Perhaps hearing the above podcast will encourage someone with information about this murder to come forward with details that could lead to an arrest. Those who give the proper information that leads detectives into solving this crime, will be eligible for a large $50,000 reward. A portion of that reward comes from the governor's office (see here), and the family of Mr. Hawkins. To give information to the Sheriff’s Office, call (615) 904-3038 or (615) 898-7777.
