The brand new Priceless IGA food store on the south side of Murfreesboro will soon be “OPEN” for business! What does that mean for local residents? More jobs. As far as lower prices go, I guess we will have to wait and see as WGNS has not been inside of a Priceless foods before. The wife of one of the recently hired workers at the store who wished not to be named in a news story told us, “The prices are less than Save-A-Lot.” Honestly, we don’t know if that is a good or a bad thing. It will have to be up to the shoppers to decide.
The new store is in the former location of Food Lion at the South Church Street, Barfield Crescent intersection. It will open on April 25th.
A new Walmart is still on the drawing board for the Barfield community. That is slated to open in late 2015 or early 2016. The Kroger store on South Church will also see a major expansion in the near future if all goes as planned. They plan to offer more big box retail items like furniture, jewelry and clothing. Their expansion will include the take-over of several smaller retail spaces next to their current location across from Indian Hills.
