At approximately 4 a.m. that Sunday, the Malibu was traveling eastbound towards Reynolds Road when it veered across the double yellow line, colliding head-on with a westbound Ford Focus. The collision resulted in severe injuries to all occupants involved. Tragically, 26-year-old Christina Holt Maclin, a passenger in the Focus, succumbed to her injuries upon arrival at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

The driver of the Malibu, identified as 24-year-old Adrian Edwin, sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the crash. A release from the Metro Police Department indicated that a search warrant was obtained for a sample of Edwin's blood, "after he admitted to consuming alcohol."

Meanwhile, the 63-year-old driver of the Ford Focus and a 23-month-old child in the backseat of the car also sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision. Sadly, the toddler was reportedly the child of the deceased Antioch woman identified as Mrs. Maclin.
