MURFREESBORO, TN - A fire broke out at a home on Carolyn Court in Murfreesboro on Wednesday afternoon. Carolyn Court is situated near Rutherford Boulevard and is directly off of Bradyville Pike. The fire department responded to the call at about 1:15 in the afternoon. Upon arrival, firemen discovered a storage building in the rear of the property that was engulfed in flames, confirming heavy smoke and fire billowing from the structure.

WGNS was told by Larry Flowers with the Murfreesboro Police Department that quick action by Murfreesboro Fire & Rescue prevented the fire from spreading to the home that sits only 25-feet away. However, heat from the flames caused a portion of the vinyl siding on the house to melt.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported in connection to the incident. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Murfreesboro Fire Marshal’s Office.

Responding to the fire were fire crews with Engine 3, Ladder 1, Rescue 1, Battalion Chiefs 1 & 2, and Safety 1 & 2 responded.
