Due to the renovation, the 18-hole Old Fort Golf Club will be closed from April to Fall 2024. However, the Bloomfield Links 6-hole course will remain open, along with the driving range and clubhouse, ensuring that golf enthusiasts still have options during this period.

Watermark Golf/Nathan Crace Design and Wadsworth Golf Construction have been contracted for the renovation project. Wadsworth Golf will focus on renovating the bunkers and greens, incorporating enhanced drainage systems and more durable warm-season grass, which will lead to cost savings in maintenance.

Throughout the renovation process, only nine holes on the back-9 of the course will be available for play until early Fall 2024, as the other nine holes undergo renovation. Golf Course Director Trey Adams highlights that this renovation marks the first major overhaul of the course in 21 years, with the last renovation occurring in 2003.

Despite the closure of the course, the Golf Department will continue to offer instructional and junior programs throughout the summer. These programs cater to individuals looking to start golf or improve their game, including Ladies Only Adult Golf Clinics, Get Golf Ready, PGA Hope, and Bloomfield Linksters. Additionally, youth-focused programs such as “Kids Play Free,” Bloomfield Tour Series, SNAG Camps, Summer Camps, and USGA*LPGA Girls Golf will also be available.
