MURFREESBORO, TN - The Murfreesboro Parks and Rec Department are trying to fill the stands at the upcoming Area 16 Special Olympics event... That was Assistant Parks Director Thomas Laird. The tournaments will be held on the MTSU campus May 6 and 7, 2024.

Laird said the local Olympians train hard and it shows... He said each athlete's heart is fully committed to the sports they participate in.

The Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-style sports for those with intellectual disabilities.
