Shelbyville Police Bust Drug Operation, Apprehend Suspects

Shelbyville, Tennessee - In a coordinated effort between Shelbyville Police Detectives and the 17th District Drug Task Force, a successful operation was conducted on February 27, 2024. The target was Shaun Earl Gibson, wanted for probation violation and failure to appear, residing at 503 White Street, Apartment 10.

Upon execution of the search warrant, Mr. Gibson attempted to evade arrest by barricading himself in the bathroom. However, law enforcement officers were able to apprehend him without any incidents. Simultaneously, a female with six active warrants was discovered in the bedroom and promptly taken into custody.
 
During the clearance of the premises, detectives and agents discovered narcotics and paraphernalia in plain view, prompting the issuance of a secondary search warrant. Subsequently, a substantial amount of illicit substances was seized, including 6.3 ounces of Fentanyl, 2.4 ounces of Cocaine, 9 grams of Methamphetamine, and various types of prescription pills. Additionally, items indicative of drug distribution, such as digital scales and packaging materials, were recovered.
 
The estimated street value of the confiscated substances is as follows: Fentanyl - approximately $12,500, Cocaine - approximately $3,400, Methamphetamine - approximately $525. Moreover, two firearms were uncovered during the search.
 
As a result of these findings, Shaun Earl Gibson is facing multiple charges, including possession of schedule II substances for resale, possession of legend drugs, possession of schedule VI drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, felon in possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a dangerous felony.
