UPDATE - Murfreesboro, TN - Although the traffic has since cleared, there was a major backup on I-24 in the vicinity of Medical Center Parkway and I-840. Authorities say there was a crash in the westbound lanes that occurred around 8 AM on Monday morning. Drivers encountered two completely blocked lanes of traffic due to the wreck on the outbound lanes heading towards Nashville (I-24 West).

Evidently, emergency responders had to close down the lanes of travel to clear the scene and to investigate the incident on Monday morning. We were informed that the Tennessee Highway Patrol is leading the investigation, but few details have been released. Sgt. Andrew Perez with the THP told WGNS News, "Upon speaking with our investigator, this will be an ongoing investigation and a preliminary report will not be available.”
