Murfreesboro, TN - We have more news on a car fire that occurred in a local park. Evidently, smoke could be seen from residents in nearby neighborhoods as the vehicle began to burn hotter in south Murfreesboro.
This past Sunday, Murfreesboro Fire & Rescue were called to Barfield Crescent Park for a report of a car fire. When firefighters arrived at the park, they quickly made their way to the Wilderness Station (301 Volunteer Road), which is where the car was located. Once there, onlookers say that firefighters swiftly took control of the situation, utilizing a front bumper water line from Ladder 2 to extinguish the fire, preventing any further damage or potential danger to nearby structures.
Murfreesboro Police were also called to the scene and according to the MPD, all occupants of the car were out of the vehicle when firemen arrived and there were no injuries reported.
MORE: Neither the police nor fire department will be launching an investigation into the incident, as there was no criminal intent reported.
