MURFREESBORO, TN - Murfreesboro detectives are seeking the public's help in identifying a person of interest suspected of theft during a cabinet shopping excursion that allegedly ended without a form of payment, according to the MPD. The theft was reported at Hobby Lobby on Old Fort Parkway in Murfreesboro.

Authorities say it happened back in March, when an unidentified individual entered the local store and proceeded to select several pieces of sterling silver jewelry, which were then concealed inside his pockets. Police report the suspect then exited the establishment without making any attempt to pay for the items. Moments later, surveillance footage captured the same individual returning to the store's foyer and absconding with a white cabinet, yet again without completing a transaction. The series of events, documented on camera, has led investigators to classify the individual as a person of interest in a theft case.

Detective David Kidd has been assigned to lead the investigation and is urging anyone with information regarding the identity of the suspect to come forward. Detective Kidd can be reached at 629-201-5517.

So far, the identity of the culprit is not known.
