LaVergne, TN - Get ready for a day of fun and excitement at LaVergne’s Veterans Memorial Park as the city gears up to host its annual Block Party and Touch-a-Truck event THIS SATURDAY on May 11. The festivities kick off at 11 a.m. and promise a day packed with entertainment for the entire family.

Located at 115 Floyd Mayfield Drive, the event will feature an array of activities to keep attendees of all ages engaged. From tantalizing food trucks to thrilling games and competitions, there’s something for everyone at this year’s celebration.

One of the highlights of the Block Party is the highly anticipated cornhole tournament. Starting at 11:30 a.m., teams can showcase their skills for a chance to win exciting prizes. Registration is only $20 per team, so be sure to arrive early to secure your spot in this friendly competition. With a single elimination knockout bracket awaiting the top 8 teams after pool play, the stakes are high and the excitement is palpable.

Meanwhile, the Touch-a-Truck event, a beloved tradition that began in 2022, will also take place this Saturday, May 11. Children of all ages will have the opportunity to explore a variety of vehicles and equipment, including emergency, construction, military, and public service vehicles. It’s a hands-on experience that offers a unique glimpse into the world of these essential vehicles and the dedicated individuals who operate them.

As part of the city’s 50th Anniversary celebrations, the City of La Vergne will be providing free hot dogs, chips, and bottled waters to all attendees. It’s a small gesture of appreciation for the community’s continued support over the years.
