"It's an incredible honor to be nominated for the EMAT Achievement Award, but to win such a prestigious award is beyond words. I was shocked. There are so many Emergency Managers in Tennessee that deserve this award. It's a good feeling to be acknowledged for my work and dedication, and it's heartwarming to know that my efforts do not go unnoticed. Being recognized by my peers is an inspiring reminder that I did not achieve this award alone. It is a reflection of my colleagues' support and hard work. I'm very proud to receive the EMAT Achievement Award, and I hope I am making a positive impact in the Emergency Management field and in the lives of those we serve," Clark said.

Clark began her career in Emergency Management at the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency, where she worked for eight years, and has been employed by Rutherford County EMA for eight years.   She works on grant activities while liaising between federal, state, and county agencies.

Most recently, she has compiled and formulated all data concerning reimbursements and documentation for the county's response to the tornado incident on April 1, 2023.

Colleagues describe Clark as an exemplary employee, extremely knowledgeable in Emergency Management, highly motivated, detail oriented, hardworking, and a dedicated public servant.

Rutherford County Public Safety Director Chris Clark said, "We are extremely proud of Carey and her dedication to Rutherford County. Rutherford County EMA is very lucky to have her. She is truly one of the key assets behind the scenes. I am honored to be able to work alongside such a high-achieving professional."
