This Is National Correctional Officers Week

Leading the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center staff are Jail Administrator Kevin Henderson and Capt. Curtis Little. They supervise the staff of correctional officers with an open door policy.

Murfreesboro, TN - President Ronald Reagan supported the contributions correctional officers make to ensure the custody, safety and well-being of inmates in jails or prisons.

Congress passed a resolution and Reagan proclaimed in 1984 the week of May 6 to be National Correctional Officers Week.
 
Rutherford County Sheriff Mike Fitzhugh recognizes how correctional officers maintain security of the Adult Detention Center seven days a week, 24 hours a day all year long.
 
The Adult Detention Center is led by Jail Administrator Kevin Henderson and Capt. Curtis Little.
Correctional officers’ duties include supervising inmates and making sure their needs are met. Deputies assigned to booking process the inmates by taking photos and fingerprints.
 
Deputies classify inmates according to their criminal record and type of crimes.
 
Other administrative correctional officers offer voluntary educational programs and community-based programs.
 
Correctional officers keep track of the time served and the day of release.
