Sunday Morning Fire Displaces Family of 6 and Pets

Murfreesboro TN - A family of six and 17 pets, including dogs, cats, and a guinea pig, escaped a 6:20AM Sunday morning (6/2/2024) blaze at their home on Painted Pony Drive.

Firefighters from Murfreesboro Fire-Rescue Department quickly extinguished the fire. Ladder 2’s emergency responders assisted two of the six people out of the burning home. Everyone else got out on their own.

The Heart of Tennessee Chapter of the American Red Cross is assisting the family.

Fire investigators with the Fire Marshal’s Office are investigating the cause of the blaze.

A special thanks to Murfreesboro Fire-Rescue personnel with Ladder 2, Ladder 1, Rescue 1, Engine 3, Engine 10, Battalion Chief 1 & 2, and Safety 1 & 2 assisted with the fire. In addition, Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services and Murfreesboro police helped at the scene.
