But in reality, he was also there as City Manager, a position he accepted after an extensive job search was done.

He assumes those responsibilities on July 1, 2024. Gore told WGNS News...

Murfreesboro Mayor Shane McFarland expressed confidence in Gore, describing him as the best applicant for the city manager’s role.

Meanwhile, the current City Manager, Craig Tindall, will be transitioning to a new position. Starting July 2, 2024, Tindall will step down as Murfreesboro’s City Manager and take on the role of a special counsel attorney for the city.

His responsibilities will include providing legal and financial counsel to staff at the Murfreesboro Airport, assisting in the establishment and administration of the new Solid Waste Authority and Sports Authority, and overseeing the Murfreesboro Community Investment Trust. This trust was created from the proceeds generated by selling the Murfreesboro Electric Department to Middle Tennessee Electric.

Despite the transition, it’s worth noting that Tindall’s new position will come with a 50 per cent pay cut, with an annual salary of $110,000.
