The crime, reported on Monday, June 3, 2024, has left more than just a loss of merchandise — it's sparked a community-wide lookout for some truly "great" individuals. That said after one of the suspects was seen making quite the fashion statement, donning a black t-shirt that loudly proclaimed, "YOU ARE NOW WITNESSING GREATNESS." Such bold fashion choices are commonly found at retailers like Five Below or conveniently online, for those wondering where to snag one for themselves. They are priced at around $5.99 per shirt.

The theft in question occurred at the sporting goods store located on Genie Lane in Smyrna, neatly tucked behind the rear entrance of Chick-fil-A, which runs parallel to Sam Ridley Parkway. The group of ladies were reportedly seen driving a white Ford Fusion that appeared to be a second generation model, produced between 2013 and 2020.

Smyrna Police are asking the public for help in identifying these illustrious figures. If you recognize the suspects or have any information that could lead to an arrest, please contact Detective Armstrong at 615-267-5012 or email kate.armstrong@townofsmyrna.org. Because who wouldn't want to assist in the pursuit of "greatness"?
