UPDATE: Endangered Man Remains Missing After Leaving Hospital: Police Seek Assistance

UPDATE: On Friday morning, Murfreesboro Police confirmed Graham Thomas Mallernee has been safely located. As a result, the endangered person alert is canceled.

MURFREESBORO, TN – Detectives with the Murfreesboro Police Department Criminal Investigations Division are actively searching for a missing and possibly endangered man. Graham Thomas Mallernee reportedly left Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital against the advice of hospital staff on Wednesday, June 26, 2024. Police told WGNS that Mallernee was last seen wearing a hospital gown and was barefoot when he left.

Mallernee is described as being 5’8” tall, with green eyes and brown hair, and weighing 170 lbs. Due to his condition and circumstances, he has been classified as a missing and endangered person and entered into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database.

The police are urging the public to assist in locating Mallernee. If anyone has seen him or has information on his whereabouts, they are requested to contact MPD Detective Julia Cox. Detective Cox can be reached at 629-201-5514 or via email at 0834@murfreesborotn.gov.

The Murfreesboro Police Department is emphasizing the urgency of this matter due to the potential risks associated with Mallernee's disappearance. Again, the community is encouraged to be on the lookout for anyone matching the description released by police. As stated, any sightings of Mr. Mallernee should be reported immediately to aid in his safe return.
