Wilson County Mourns Victim of Cedar Creek Marina Shooting

WILSON COUNTY, TENN. - In the early hours of Saturday, June 29, 2024, a tragic event unfolded at Cedar Creek Marina and Restaurant on Saundersville Road, about 40 minutes from Murfreesboro. At around midnight, deputies from the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a distressing report of a shooting. They found a 27-year-old man in his vehicle, fighting for his life. Despite their immediate efforts and the swift arrival of paramedics, the young man couldn't be saved.

This senseless act of violence has left the community reeling. Authorities have discovered that the shooting occurred during an armed robbery, with the suspects fleeing the scene when the fatal shots were fired. Notably, the parking lot where the shooting happened is under Wilson County's jurisdiction, while the marina itself is within Mount Juliet city limits. Now, detectives from the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office and Mt. Juliet Police Department are working tirelessly to identify those responsible.
