Tennessee Radio Hall of Fame inducts 9 New Honorees

Murfreesboro, TN - After a year elsewhere, the Tennessee Radio Hall of Fame has moved back to the Heart of Tennessee at the Embassy Suites and Convention Center. Murfreesboro welcomes this prestigious group back as they honor some of the Volunteer State's current and past broadcasters.

The 2024 Career Class (living) nominees include:

  • Steve Bowers from WYNU-FM and WNWS-FM Jackson, WBOL and WVST-FM Bolivar, and WHOS, WDRM in Decatur, AL.
  • Ted "Gunner" Ousley from WOKI, WIVK, and WNFZ in Knoxville and WBCR Maryville, 
  • Sharon Kay from WFSK-FM, 92Q, WLAC, WSMV-TV Nashville, and WREN Topeka, KS
  • Bob Kesling the Voice of the Vols, WIVK Radio, WBIR-TV, SEC Network and more. 

 

The 2024 Legacy Class (deceased) nominees are:

  • Cook & Powell (Fred Cook and John Powell) WREC, WREG-TV in Memphis
  • Joe Case at WJAK and WBBJ-TV both Jackson, WTVF-TV and Hippie Radio boh Nashville
  • Fred Harvey (Fast Freddie) at WVOL Nashville
  • Buzz Benson AFR Network, in Nashville at WSIX, WLAC, WMAK and WAMB, along with WFMG Gallatin.
