Rutherford County Election results were tabulated and fully released in less than two-hours with nearly 10-and-a-half percent of registered voters casting a ballot.

The three Murfreesboro City Council incumbents were returned to office. Shawn Wright, Bill Shacklett and Kirt Wade holding off Kelly Northcutt and Matt Herriman.

With just four candidates running for four seats on the City School Board, Butch Campbell, Jeanette Price, David Settles and Jimmy Leo Richardson will all assume those responsibilities.

The Republican primary for two State House races also went to the incumbents. District 13 Representative Robert Stevens garnered over 68% of the vote to Murfreesboro City Councilwoman Jami Averwater's just over 31%. He will face Democrat Jonathan Yancey in November, who was unopposed.

District 34 Representative Tim Rudd defeated challenger Tucker Marcum 64% to 36%. He will face Democrat Amelia Pant, who was also unopposed in November.

Two of the four County School Board general election races were opposed. Stan Vaught won election to the Zone 2 seat, beating Robert C. Brooks and John Duncan. He'll replace Coy Young, who did not seek re-election. Caleb Tidwell defeated Democratic challenger Tiffany Fee to retain his seat.

For Road Board, Zone 6, Elaine Williams defeated former County Commissioner Paul Johnson by just 143 voted.
