La Vergne Mobile Home Residents To Meet With Mayor Saturday Night

La Vergne, TN – A group of renters in the Cedar Glen Mobile Home Community at 206 Sue Ellen Dr. in La Vergne have organized what they describe as a renter’s union. In a press release, UPNF (Unidos Por Nuestras Familias) explains that it was organized with a petition signed by more than 280 petition.  

A UPNF spokesperson told WGNS News that La Vergne Mayor Jason Cole along with Rutherford County Commissioners Hope Oliver and Laura Davidson, both representing the La Vergne area, will meet with resident at 6:00 o’clock this coming Saturday night (8/3/2024) in the mobile home community for a town hall type of meeting.

WGNS attempted to talk with management at the Cedar Glen Mobile Home Community, but no one answered the phone. When an answer machine took the call, we recorded a message, but so far have not received any response.

Cedar Glen resident Carmen Ibarra told WGNS that the mobile home community’s management keeps adding monthly charges. One is for extra vehicles, even though over a year ago they allegedly paid to extend their driveways enough to include four vehicles…

Ibarra was also concerned that fees seem to vary by tenant…

In the written announcement, the Cedar Glen Mobile Home Community’s residents describe themselves as predominantly Latino construction workers. UPNF says that the La Vergne Cedar Glen is owned by YES! Communities, a company controlled a San Francisco real estate investment bank.

Again, the town hall meeting between with La Vergne Mayor Cole and County Commissioners Oliver and Davidson is set for 6:00PM this Saturday night at Cedar Glen Mobile Home Community, 206 Sue Ellen Dr. in La Vergne.
