Shelbyville, TN - In neighboring Bedford County Sheriff's Deputy Tylar Prosser and his K9 partner Ranger conducted a traffic stop. While questioning the occupants, Deputy Prosser’s suspicions were raised when K9 Deputy Ranger performed an open air sniff around the vehicle.
After K9 Ranger alerted on the vehicle, a search was conducted which resulted in approximately 200 blue pills believed to contain fentanyl being recovered from the vehicle along with a stolen firearm and a small amount of methamphetamine.
The result of this traffic stop led to a search warrant being obtained and executed by the 17th Judicial Drug Task Force. This search warrant resulted in the discovery of approximately 800 more blue pills, also believed to contain fentanyl being confiscated along with an AK-47 style carbine.
These are the same type of pills that are responsible for many of the overdoses and deaths that have destroyed so many families in this community. Thankfully, this traffic stop led to over 1000 of these pills being removed from the streets.
While this investigation continues, we would like to thank Bedford County Deputy Tylar Prosser and his K9 partner Ranger for their solid police work which led to this discovery. We also want to thank the 17th Judicial Drug Task Force for its partnership and assistance in moving this investigation beyond the traffic stop. Great team work!
