MURFREESBORO, TN - In what could be the most stylish crime spree Murfreesboro has seen in a while, a group of four fashion-forward females allegedly made the rounds at The Avenue on Medical Center Parkway, leaving behind a trail of empty hangers and bewildered store employees. This news in after previous reports of shoplifting at ULTA and several other retailers within the same shopping center. Coincidence? Maybe not. But whether these thefts are connected or simply a case of like-minded shopaholics remains to be seen.

Murfreesboro Police have been busy piecing together the puzzle. The recent thefts at Old Navy, involving two women, occurred about 10 days after another duo took a similar approach, “shopping” at multiple stores along Medical Center Parkway. According to MPD, the alleged thieves were accused of entering several shops, picking out their favorite items, and then bolting without so much as a swipe of the credit card. It seems cash isn’t king when you have a quick exit strategy.

The July 15th heist saw one woman caught on camera in a light-yellow tank top with matching drawstring shorts and a discreet baseball cap. Her possible partner in crime was sporting an Army green t-shirt with compression shorts, with her long black braids giving her a distinctive look. Both appeared fit and ready for a getaway run in their stylish running shoes.

Detectives are now asking for your help in identifying these four shoplifting savants, two at Old Navy on July 25 and two that hit several stores throughout The Avenue on July 15.

In the Old Navy case, the suspects were seen in photos released by police, one in yet another trendy Army green t-shirt and the other in a purple top. While their casual chic look was on point, it’s their suspected concealment of new “acquisitions” that really stole the show.

If you recognize any of these ladies from the MPD-released photos (above this article), Detective Robert Jamison would love to hear from you. You can reach him at 629-201-5581 or by email at 0485@murfreesborotn.gov.
