SMYRNA, TN - The Smyrna Police Department began sifting through security camera footage when they started to dig deeper into an auto burglary case. Once they started lining up dates and times encoded on the video, they nailed down one individual who was recorded around the time that the crime occurred. What they found was a fashionably dressed individual near a burglarized car.

The crime reportedly took place on August 11th in the parking lot of Southern Flare, a cigar lounge at 98 North Lowry Street. After all, nothing says "classy night out" – or in this case “classy day out” like a cigar and a bit of parking lot mischief.

Video footage shows the man in question was dressed to impress—or at least to make a memorable exit. Sporting a navy-blue Gilligan-style hat, fastened securely with a toggle strap (because safety first), he paired it with a dark tie-dyed t-shirt featuring a skeleton casually holding a cup of coffee. The shirt's message, “STAYING ALIVE,” was likely meant as personal motivation, not legal advice. The ensemble was rounded off with gray shorts, navy blue and white sneakers, and a sizable tattoo stretching from elbow to wrist on his right arm.

If this suspect's unique sense of style rings a bell, Smyrna Police would appreciate a heads-up. Those who recognize the man from the surveillance photos are encouraged to contact Detective Robert Monroe at (615) 267-5455 or via email at robert.monroe@townofsmyrna.org.
