MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- Murfreesboro’s Old Fort Golf Course will reopen this Friday, August 30th at 8:30 am with brief remarks and a ceremonial tee off to celebrate the much-anticipated re-opening. Renovations at the City operated course have been underway since January 2024.
Old Fort Golf Course golf pro Trey Adams talked about some of the renovations and changes... The ceremonial 1st tee shots will include Mayor Shane McFarland, Kirt Wade, Darren Gore and Don Turner.
In March of 2024, the greens renovation began... Over the last several weeks, contractors concentrated on preparing the course and making sure everything is ready for play.
Golf has been a popular sport over the past few years, as highlighted by Adams... Old Fort Golf Club is an 18-hole public golf facility owned and operated by the City of Murfreesboro. The par 72 layout is located along the banks of the Stones River and adjacent to Fortress Rosecrans, a historic earthen Fort from the Civil War. Old Fort has the privilege of hosting several championship events and serves as a Qualifying site for the Korn Ferry Tour’s Simmons Bank Open.
