MTSU 32 - TN Tech 25 (Final Score, season opener with New Coach)

(Sat. Aug. 31, 2024) Torrential storms with high winds, lightning and a flood of rain dumped on Floyd Stadium just before the 6:00PM kickoff.  As a result, the game did not begin until 8:41PM. Therefore it continued past midnight and into September. 

MTSU was strong in the first half, but the second half was back and forth with Tech inching ahead.

The Tennessee Tech jumped ahead by 1-point. With 31-seconds left on the clock, the Blue Raiders scored a touchdown and came-up with 30 - 25.  They then got the field goal and 2-points for a final of 32-25

Harvey The Totem Pole, a 1960s-80s tradition, is back at MTSU for a full-year. As you recall, Nashville businessman Fred Harvey who owned Harvey's Department Stores, donated the Totem Pole with the understanding that the winning school would keep the unique trophy for a full year.  

Coach Derek Mason started the 2024 season opener at MTSU with a season win--Go Big Blue!
