Fri. (Dec. 6, 2024) 5PM Main Street Murfreesboro/Rutherford County invites the public to the east side of the Historic Rutherford County Courthouse and be a part of an old-fashioned Christmas tradition. The event includes Santa and Mrs. Claus performing the official Rutherford County Christmas tree lighting. After that the popular couple goes inside the warm courthouse and sits in rockers to enjoy photos and conversations with "good little boys and girls". Whiles that's happening, some of the best Christmas music is performed "live" on the stage beside the tree. It's all FREE and the public is encouraged to come early and enjoy dinner downtown while shopping at the unique local family businesses around the Historic Square area.
