Murfreesboro, TN – Mike Pence, the 48th Vice President of the United States of America, will be in Murfreesboro on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2024. He will be the guest speaker at MTSU for Constitution Day.
WGNS has confirmed that the stage is set at MTSU’s Tucker Theatre, where former Vice President Mike Pence will deliver a brief introduction this Tuesday, followed by an engaging conversation with Dr. Mary Evins, an Honors History Research Professor at MTSU... That was Dr. Evins, who serves as the coordinator of MTSU’s American Democracy Project.
Mr. Pence, who previously held the second-highest office in the executive branch of the U.S. federal government, will discuss “Defining Democracy” as part of the university-wide examination of the topic. The event will be on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2024, between 3pm and 4:15pm.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, of this week (September 16th and 17th), MTSU will host its traditional Constitution Day observance, featuring on-campus readings of the U.S. Constitution at various locations around campus. The event is free and open to the public.
Under MTSU’s American Democracy Project, a student organization on campus, local residents are encouraged to ensure their voices are heard in the upcoming elections by casting a ballot. But to participate in that process during the November elections, you must first be registered to vote. Dr. Evins emphasized... Again, the public is invited to MTSU as Constitution Day is observed on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 16th and 17th.
