MPD: "Detectives would like to contact the man as a person of interest in the case." Call 629-201-5536 with Clues.

UPDATE: Detective Gorham has identified the person of interest. Warrants are currently being obtained for theft under $1,000, in the below case...

Previous - MURFREESBORO, TN - Someone found a wallet on a city-operated Rover bus and handed it over to the bus driver before getting off at their stop. But it appears that a stash of cash inside the wallet shockingly disappeared somewhere between the wallet being left behind by one person, possibly picked up by another—and maybe even touched by someone else—before it was finally turned in by a model citizen.

Murfreesboro Police suggested to WGNS in an email they'd like to contact the Good Samaritan, “as a person of interest in the case." Evidently, the wallet that's the focus of this situation was turned over to the bus operator, allegedly minus the cash, as the rider hopped off near Walmart on Old Fort Parkway.

Wearing what appeared to be an old-fashioned, all-American baseball jersey, the man was last seen strolling along Thompson Lane near several hotels, gas stations, and restaurants.

The question of who took the Benjamins out of the wallet remain unanswered, but perhaps someone could lead police to a home run that solves this local case.

Murfreesboro detectives would love to chat with the man in the photos at his earliest convenience. If you recognize the subject in the pictures released by the police, you're asked to contact Detective Shan Harris at 629-201-5536. Again, the number is 629-201-5536.

If you know clues that could help answer questions about the cash that's allegedly missing, or if you know the name of someone who had something to do with the vanishing money, please reach out to Detective Harris. After all, honesty is usually the best way to avoid a full-blown police interrogation.
