Guests on this radio broadcast are Rutherford County SRO's Administrative Sgt. Dustin Cox and SRO Sam Trubee at Stewartsboro Eementary in Smyrna, TN. That school serves kindergarten through 5th grade. 

  • 31-years ago (1993) Sheriff Truman Jones started the SRO Program in Rutherford County with five officers in five schools. This was the first in Tennessee and one of the first in the nation. There are currently SROs working in all 47 county schools. 
  • The 4th Annual SRO Golf Tournament is Sat. (Oct. 5, 2024) at Champion's Run Golf Course. Registration is 7AM with a shotgun start at 8AM. There will also be an auction at the golf tournament (7:30AM-2:00PM). The funds will be used to host a field trip for special needs students to the Lane Agri-Park and as mini-scholarships for graduating seniors. Fees: $100 per player (team of 4=$400). Call Sgt.   • The SRO Golf Tournament is also seeking various levels of sponsors.
  • Student wishing to try for the mini-scholarships for graduating seniors need to write an essay to be considered. For more information, contact Sgt. Cox or the SRO at your high school.
